Homage - African Wildlife

The elephant was standing over the carcass of another elephant. We watch for several minutes as the elephant stood silently as if it was paying homage to a dear friend. Every so often, it would gentle caress the carcass with its foot. After a while, a second elephant arrived and stood opposite the first elephant, with the carcass in between them. They then touch and entwined their trunks over the body. It was a really moving scene.
